First published We are a family that celebrates both which means with great excitement, the first night of Chanukah kicks off the holidays. I got our dining table feeling festive for the first night's candle with a the traditional blue and white layered over silver, with a little boho twist.

An indigo African mudcloth practically begged to be included in the mix with its ethnic blue and white patterns.

Remember my shibori dying from a few weeks ago? I always had the idea of using the newly blue napkins for Chanukah if they came out well. And they did. Used with my silver hued Chiliwich place mats from ages ago and new draidel shaped dish my mom sent, they look great. The handmade menorahs my children brought home will make them smile with pride. I didn't go crazy but I don't think anyone needs to to make the evening feel special and festive for the kids. Happy Chanukah.
