These two bathrooms were the last holdovers in a midcentury home that had already been remodeled. The challenge was to give each bathroom a distinct personailty, while tying both into the current design. To feel like a cohesive and thought out whole, rather than something that happened piece meal. The master bathroom was transformed into a modern zen spa like retreat by the creation of a "wet room" with a built in shower bench. Japanese accent tile and a teak floating vanity elevated the functional room.
The small guest bathroom stayed cute and minimalist, inspired by black and white Scandinavian designs. Larger format matte black hex tile and elongated subway tile were paired with matte black fixtures to keep things clean and simple. The floating teak vanity and shelves are a nod to the home's midcentury roots and the cabinetry in the master bathroom.
