Design Principal, Owner
After a decade of developing her expertise in interior design and construction project management in the corporate sector working in-house for LPA Architecture, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and Cushman & Wakefield, Natalie offers a detailed and highly organized strategic approach to any sized project. Six years after starting her own firm, her ambition remains to bring her vision of uniquely California inspired modern bohemian interiors to normal every day homes and offices, sensibly. Her professionalism and passion for the design process lends itself well to ensuring the project is a success with a proven track record. What sets Natalie apart from other designers is her natural design talent coupled with a detailed understanding of the construction process. She can not only create an organized unique design plan, but also oversee its implementation to completion. A reverence for architectural history, an appreciation for the natural environment, and an awareness of current design innovations marks an award winning Veneer Designs project.
Natalie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from Cornell University and is a LEED accredited professional. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two young children where her eye is restlessly scanning the environment for any and all design inspiration moments.
Phoebe Chuason joined Veneer in 2016 and brings an analytical approach and highly detailed eye to support larger scale projects. Her patience and even temper make her a reliable and invaluable team member.
She graduated with a B.A. in Architecture from UC Berkeley and spent several years at the Danielian Associates Architecture and Planning before moving to Los Angeles and launching her second career as a successful freelance photographer. Being able to bring both an architectural and photographic lens to interior design work makes her uniquely suited to the challenges of remodels and new construction. As an avid photographer and traveler, she values all the stories that a place can tell. She also has a love for all things outdoors and appreciates how design in California can blur the usual boundary between indoor and outdoor space in the best possible way.
An east coaster at heart with an eye for bohemian lifestyle design, Kaitrin joined the Veneer team in 2016, with ambition towards making clean, modern, bohemian home style, accessible to everyone. Growing up in Orange County New York, surrounded by an intensely creative family circle, arts, architecture and design has been a constant in her life, with her family’s business based in luxury custom craftsman home development and commercial building restoration throughout the world.
Her relationship with Natalie and Veneer Designs came in the most organic of ways. Both New Yorkers with a passion for clean modern bohemian design coupled with east coast ambition, Kaitrin reached out after seeing Natalie’s work on Houzz, MyDomain and Domino, to see if there was a shot in the dark that she could take her under her wing. Stars aligned and a design duo was born. Kaitrin brings a charismatic energy and intuitive insight to the smaller scale projects she takes on.
Achieving her Bachelors in Communications and Public Relations from SUNY Oswego and her Associates in Veterinary Medical Science from SUNY Ulster, Kaitrin’s interests span far beyond design and architecture. Earlier ambitions were geared towards anything to set her apart from her family’s business, but in the end the design bug kept biting. Moving to Venice California in 2013 gave her the push to pursue her love of interior design. Starting as an intern at JAC Interiors in Mar Vista, moving quickly up the ladder towards project manager. After relentlessly pursuing one of her design mentors, the opportunity came to collaborate with Emily Henderson on freelance blog projects and instantly her career had new focus.
Living at home in Mar Vista with her husband Patrick and Golden Retriever Harvey, life is beautiful, productive and adventurous. When not designing she enjoys anything that takes her outside, including bike rides, canyon hikes, beach naps and flea market hunting. She also has an immense love of travel, exploring new cultures whenever possible.
