My friend L has 3 super cute daughters who are living in not so cute rooms. The oldest (10) has her own small room with one large white daybed and metallic desk. That's about it. L really wanted to paint her room blue and let me infuse it with some personality without blowing the bank. Easy enough.
Since their home is in Playa del Rey and very close to the beach, I infused it with that beachy bohemian style you know I love. A capiz chandeier, some woven window shades, and mixes of indigo blue and grey patterned bedding. Don't forget the white wall hanging and wood dowel leg chair.
Next up, her 8 and 5 year old share a tiny room with wood bunk beds and another sad little desk.
Its a small messy room so we figured we would do an accent wall with wallpaper, against which we would bring in closed storage to hide their games and toys. The plain wood bunk beds will be painted gray and we instantly have a grey, pink, and white scheme starting to take shape. Oh so Euro and sophisticated. Gotta install some pom pom curtains. That hideous chair has got to go. Another way to control; the mess: many woven baskets. Hopefully some after photos in a few weeks...
