Squarespace Reboot

You may have noticed my site looks a little, ok a lot, different. It was time to update to a cleaner look. I realized that a lot of sites I liked and would want to emulate were powered by Squarespace so to save time and effort, I decided to use one of their templates instead of recreating it in Photoshop then hiring a programmer to code it for me in Wordpress. That's what I was doing every time I wanted an update and it was becoming a clunky and cumbersome exercise. This post is not sponsored by Squarespace at all but I must say I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to customize their design friendly templates. In one weekend I was able to build a new site. I was nervous about exporting my existing content and getting the new version to go live, but their how to guides were incredibly well suited for a visual learner such as myself with screen shot by screen shot instructions. Even someone as computer illiterate as me was able to make it work. The only downside was I lost a lot of previous blog posts. I don't know why that happened, but they weren't that great, really. I can try to recreate some of my more recent ones, but otherwise its a fresh start. I hope you like the new format. And if you don't I can easily switch to a new template to keep you on your toes.
